I just got a sewing machine as a super early birthday present, and the first thing I did was spend 8 hours making my first project!
Clovis has been telling me that he wanted a tool bag for a while, so a few weeks ago we bought some canvas, which was on the thinner side, so I double-layered it and even added some wire so it would be more structural.
I started by trying to find a pattern. I gave up after 5 minutes of googling, then started cutting and taping paper together to make a mockup.
I had to make a run to the store after finishing the mock-up because I only had the fabric and invested in some thread.
After I finished the paper mockup and it was to my standards, I cut the panels, fine-tuned the measurements then cut the canvas with some seam allowance.
After messing up only 100 times, and 8 hours later, I had a tool bag!
I absolutely love my new sewing machine. I am so excited to have some new projects and fuel my creative spirit throughout the fall season.
Special thanks to Clovis's mom for kickstarting this new sewing journey and for all of her support!
