As usual, the Mercedes ended up being a lot more work than it should have been.

On most modern cars, you can imagine the radiator being the only thing you have to drain since all of the coolant from the engine will drain into the radiator, since it is the lowest point in the coolant system. Unfortunately, this is not the case with older Mercedes like my 300SD.

The coolant pools in the engine and so you have to unscrew this small bolt tucked away in the bowels of the engine just to get the old coolant out. This isn't even counting the numerous times you have to take it in/out to properly flush the old coolant out with water.

After flushing, I installed the new thermostat and put in the new coolant, which should be easier on the engine. Future goals for the Mercedes: new front suspension (to give a nice smooth ride), replacing brake fluid (for safety and easy braking), and a window tint (to keep the temperature down in the car).
